Richard Hoagland's latest theory, "Von Braun's secret", is completely wrong. The equation he gives for calculating the dV of the solid upper stages of the Juno rocket is incorrect. He inserts incorrect values into the incorrect equation. He then omits to derive the essential logarithm.
His faulty mathematics leads him to state that the overperformance was 17%. In fact, using the correct equation and the correct data, it is 4.2%.
